Layoffs Reported at Raven Software

Gaming website Kotaku reports that Raven Software, developer of 2009’s Wolfenstein and, more recently, Singularity, is laying off roughly 40 employees. This information comes from sources directly affected by the layoffs.

When reached for comment on the matter, publisher Activision, who acquired Raven in 1997, said, “With the recent completion of Singularity, Raven Software is realigning its workforce to better reflect the studio’s upcoming slate.”

It’s said that the layoffs are part of the studio’s effort to refocus resources on downloadable content. According to Kotaku, the developer originally consisted of three development teams. Last year’s cuts left them at two, and these most recent layoffs leave it at one.

Raven was founded in 1990.
