New Space Action Game Recreates
Spaceship Customization

Paradox Interactive today confirmed
details surrounding the RPG-focused features of Dark Horizon, the upcoming space
action combat simulator for the PC. Dark Horizon’s ship customization feature is
one of the most advanced ship customizations released to date. The customization
options of the ship are not only visual, but gameplay-oriented as well.

“There is a challenging balance
dynamic that lies behind the ship customization; it revolves around the fact you
can’t create ‘perfect’ ship. Each time you customize your ship, you have to take
into account the purpose of the next mission and then chose appropriate tech
kit,” said Timur Lazarenko, Lead Programmer on Dark Horizon. “Depending on the
exact customization of the ship, the player can pilot highly maneuverable
fighters, try out a heavy-armored-bomber, or even opt for a hybrid style of
play. With the game’s multitude of hulls, reactors, armor and shield systems,
the customization options are endless.”

In addition to its highly advanced
ship design options, Dark Horizon features an epic storyline in which players
must place the fate of the universe of Enosta in their hands. By joining with
other sentient beings across the galaxy in the fight against the mysterious
force known as the Mirk, adventurers have the opportunity to save billions of
lives and become the champions of a battle that will forever change Enosta.

Dark Horizon will be available for
purchase in stores and for digital download at GamersGate, the leading digital
distribution platform creating easily accessible gaming experiences for gamers
worldwide. The game is set to ship on September 23rd in North America and
September 26th in Europe. For more information, visit
