Team Meat Working on New Game

Still playing Super Meat Boy? I know I am. It seems like the two-man organization of Team Meat is planning something major for their upcoming project.

According to Team Meat’s Edmund McMillen, Super Meat Boy was a fairly straightforward affair, and now the duo is planning to impress gamers with something completely new. “I think it’s going to be more ambitious design-wise and it’s going to be more of a challenge for us,” McMillen told Eurogamer. “It’s a bigger project. It’s going to be fun and that’s exactly why we’re into it. It’s going to be pretty fresh.”

Super Meat Boy will still be getting its Mac port, though, so the series remains a big part of Team Meat’s plans. When asked about the progress of the port, Tommy Refenes stated, “I’m doing my absolute best. It’s something that’s bugging the sh*t out of me, that I want to get finished.”

It’s interesting to note that Team Meat had plans of porting Super Meat Boy to the 3DS. Of course, their lack of a 3DS dev kit caused the duo to scrap that idea a while back. All I can really think about at this point is what the team will have in store with their upcoming game. If it’s as “ambitious” as Team Meat has promised, you can bet it will be something major to look forward to.
