The Reason For No Uncharted 3 DLC
The reason that Naughty Dog will not be releasing any single-player DLC for Uncharted 3? Ambition--apparently, they have too much of it. In an interview with Eurogamer, Uncharted 3's Game Director, Justin Richmond, said, "Whenever we sit down and think we should do some single-player DLC, someone pitches something and we realize - that's a five hour level." He added, "We'd rather build out another game than we would do episodic content. We're so small that we can't afford to have a whole team working on DLC."
Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer said, "Dialling back our ambition is difficult."
This is good and bad news. It's definitely good that when Naughty Dog puts their effort into something, they don't half ass it. They go all out. From a man-power standpoint, it doesn't make much sense for them to be spending a ton of time working on some short DLC when they could be working on the next game that we're all going to be obsessed with. However, this is bad news for players that have such a hard-on for Nathan Drake that the single-player, co-op, multiplayer deathmatches, and DLC for both co-op and multiplayer, won't be enought for them.
