Assassin’s Creed Headed to iOS Devices

Ubisoft has announced plans to bring a variety of its most popular franchises to iOS devices.  This means titles like Assassin's Creed and Rabbids, will get the Apple treatment.  According to Gamepro, the publisher also has plans to bring Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia, and Michael Jackson: The Experience on to Apple's devices.

This announcement, along with news that Raving Rabbids are getting a TV series and rumors of an Assassin's Creed movie, emphasize Ubisoft's goal of bringing its popular franchises to other forms of media.  The first Assassin's Creed title, Assassin's Creed Rearmed appeared on the Canadian App Store last week, but is now available worldwide for  free via the App Store.

Assassin's Creed Recollection will be an interactive artbook mixed with a real-time strategy game featuring key characters and locations from the series.  It is said to be available before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft is already has plans to bring Rabbids Go HD to the iPad and Rabbids Go Phone Again to the iPhone/iPod Touch.  These will allow players to torture a captive Rabbid by tickling, throwing, shaking, and playing tricks on him.  Fun, right?

Ubisoft isn't just bringing older titles to iOS devices.  They also plan to release an original iPad title known as Monster Burner on November 3rd.  In Monster Burner, players must protect their castle's gold from hordes of invading monsters using spells and environmental effects.
