Shigeru Miyamoto Plays Video Games Like Crazy!

You know who plays a lot of video games? Shigeru Miyamoto, that's who. In an interview with Weekly Play News (translated by Andriasang), the Mario and Zelda creator explained his role at Nintendo.

According to Shiggy, it is his job to spend hours playing games and testing them out. After several hours with a game, he then reports to the game's director. By listing different bullet points on a list, he goes over the game and discusses its content.

According to the interview, Miyamoto does this with about seven games at the same time, though he usually prioritizes and focuses mainly on about three games every year. When dealing with AAA titles like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, it isn't uncommon for him to dedicate 10 hours a day to the game.

Miyamoto also briefly talked about Super Mario 3D Land. Apparently, development of the already acclaimed 3DS platformer took two years. 30 people worked on the game in total, and I assume ol' Shiggy put some good hours into playing it and jotting down his thoughts.

Mr. Miyamoto, work hard and play harder!
