Monster Hunter Tri-G sells big in Japan, hits 1 million mark

As of January 8, Monster Hunter Tri-G for the Nintendo 3DS has sold over 1.08 million copies, reports Andriasang. You know what that means, don't you? It means killing huge monsters on Nintendo's dual screen handheld is pretty freakin' awesome, that's what.

It also means that Monster Hunter Tri-G is the third best-selling 3DS game in Japan. It was topped by Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land. But hey, those are great titles in their own right, so there's no shame in that.

The fact that Monster Hunter Tri-G has already surpassed the 1 million mark is most certainly impressive. Not only has the game cemented itself in a nice spot at the top of the best-selling charts in Japan, but it's the highest selling third-party game for the device. Kudos, Capcom!

The 3DS saw an increase in sales, going from 197,952 last week to 240,819 this week. Is this attributed to Monster Hunter Tri-G? There's definitely that possibility. Looks like the 3DS really came back from the gutter. Release more good games and keep it that way, Nintendo.
