Microsoft releases new Kinect Star Wars short film

Star Wars Kinect may not have had the best showings at gaming conventions last year, but Microsoft's latest trailer for the Kinect-exclusive game definitely leaves a lasting impression.

In the short film/trailer below, Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt takes on Darth Vader in the iconic lightsaber duel from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.  Donning a bathrobe and slippers, Pratt hilariously assumes the role of Obi-Wan as he wields a lightsaber and taunts Vader before being struck down, only to reemerge as…well you'll see.

Originally due for a release in late 2011, the game was delayed in order to ensure its "full potential".  Coinciding with the release of the game is an impressive Limited Edition Star Wars Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle featuring a custom R2-D2 console, gold C3PO themed controller, and a sleek white Kinect.

The game is currently dated for a spring 2012 release, but no official date has been confirmed.  In the meantime, be sure to check out our Kinect Star Wars impressions from CES 2012.
