Fans plan Half-Life 3 protest by playing Half-Life 2

A Steam group is picking up steam (pardon the pun) as fans have banded together to stage a protest focused on the lack of Half-Life 3 news.  This isn't your typical protest, as the fans will come together on Saturday, February 4, and play the Half-Life 2 to bring Valve's popular, but old game back into the spotlight.

The fans aren't demanding Valve come out and announce Half-Life 3, however.  In fact, they even write that this group is not meant to rush the development of the Half-Life series.  They just want better communication from the company.

"The lack of communication between Valve and the Half-Life community has been a frustrating experience. While continued support for current and future products is greatly appreciated, fans of the Half-Life series have waited years for a word on when the franchise will return," the group's message states.

"So, Instead of focusing efforts in a negative and disrespectful way, we have decided to gain Valve's attention by delivering a basic message:  'Your oldest and longest running fanbase would like better communication.'"

The group, which now boasts close to 30,000 members can be found here.  In addition, more information about the upcoming gameplay event can be found in the group's most recent update.
