While most gamers are enjoying their new PlayStation Vita, some are experiencing error codes preventing them from accessing the PS Store and purchasing digital content.
As reported by Destructoid, Twitter is filled with Vita owners complaining about Vita error code NP-2244-2, which seems to appear when users try to download multiple items at once from the online store. An error message reads: "The connection to the server has been lost."
The error stops them from accessing the PlayStation Store and purchasing games, and reoccurs every time they try to access the store. One suggested fix is to clear all billing data, though Destructoid reports little evidence that it works.
Another Vita error code NP-8677-8, spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle, is also restricting some users from accessing the store. This one seems to appear randomly, however.
Vita owners aren't the only ones experiencing PlayStation Store-related errors. Those with a PS3, hoping to download the content on their home console and transfer it to the Vita, are getting error 800231002. This prevents users from downloading Vita content and in some cases even PS3 content.
While some users without a Vita are being affected, it's considerably less, leading us to believe this is a Vita-centric problem affecting the PS Store.
Sony has yet to comment on the hiccup, but we'll be sure to let you know when they do.
