Activision celebrates James Bond 50th anniversary with ‘007 Legends’ announcement

Activision today announced, in celebration of the James Bond franchise's 50th anniversary, 007 Legends, a game that will launch players back through time to relive a selection of James Bond's "most iconic and intense undercover missions" from the Bond film franchise.

"To honor 50 years of the world's top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet," said Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing David Oxford.. "Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game."

007 Legends will feature an original, overarching storyline tying together six classic Bond movies and concluding with this year's highly-anticipated Skyfall – the 23rd installment of the Bond franchise.  Like the movies, 007 Legends will equip you with state-of-the-art spy gadgets, weapons, and sleek vehicles.  Of course, you'll still need to utilize Bond's quick wits, class, and style.

Fan-favorite single-player "Mi6 Ops Missions" will see a return in Legends.  First appearing in GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, the ops missions will challenge you to complete extra missions ranging from all-out action to stealth gameplay and compete for the highest online leaderboard scores.  In addition, for the first time ever, you will be able to play as Bond's most famous villains giving you view from their eyes.

007 Legends will also have multiplayer modes including four-player split-screen game modes and online competitive gameplay with new maps, weapons, and characters from the 50 year legacy.

007 Legends is expected to release Fall 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
