Angry Birds surpasses one billion downloads

The last time we looked, Angry Birds Space alone had pushed 50 million downloads. So in many ways, it's not surprising to learn that the entire series has passed the one billion mark.

Rovio Mobile shared the news on their website today, thanking fans with a contest to win an exclusive Mighty Eagle ring.

The company launched Angry Birds Space for multiple platforms in March. Recently it's been in heated competition with Zynga and OMGPop's Draw Something, although the latter's success seems to be dwindling.
