Saw movie scribes rewriting God of War adaptation

Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the screenwriters behind four Saw films, will begin re-writes on the God of War movie script.

The pair's work with Guillermo del Toro on Pacific Rim (set for 2013) steered them into the action genre.

David Self (Road to Perdition) penned the original draft and is acting as executive producer on the adaptation.

Charles Roven (The Dark Knight Rises) and Alex Gartner (Season of the Witch) are producing through Atlas Entertainment.

Do you have faith in the God of War movie? We have great comic book movies, so why can't we finally leap the hurdle to good video game films? Ubisoft's decision to bring on Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) for Assassin's Creed might prove that filmmakers can take the genre more seriously and rely on quality talent to make video game movies better … or the coming film might tank entirely.

Do you think Universal Studios will do justice to God of War?
