It’s game over for Nintendo Power

Since 1988, Nintendo Power magazine has been a part of the Big N's massive repertoire. It looks like that will no longer be the case, because Future Publishing revealed that it will not be working with Nintendo to keep the publication alive.

Speaking to Ars Technica, a source within Future stated that Nintendo was "difficult to work with." The console and game manufacturer reportedly had no interest whatsoever in renewing its contract with the publisher or delivering different types of digital content.

According to Future, Nintendo will not be reviving the brand down the road. In the past, Nintendo Power was run by Nintendo itself, and it later teamed with Future to release the magazine, so the fact that the company won't be taking over the project probably means it doesn't really have much interest in it any longer, which is kind of a shame.

There's still no word on when the last issue of Nintendo Power will be released, but we're sure to get more info on that as the end of the gaming magazine's life cycle draws near.
