PES 2013 adds licensed Brazilian teams for the first time

For the first time ever, licensed Brazilian teams will be present in Pro Evolution Soccer 2013. Konami Digital Entertainment announced today that a new licensing agreement will bring 20 teams from across Brazil to PES 2013.

"The Latin American region, particularly Brazil, continues to grow tremendously for us, so it's important we bring teams and licenses from this region," said Director of Latin America for Konami Erik Bladinieres. "Bringing in these teams from Brazil, along with the Copa Libertadores license, makes PES 2013 the most authentic soccer experience available in the market."

Each of the 20 teams will feature updated rosters, current kits, stadiums, and all of the hallmarks of each franchise to give players the most immersive soccer experience. Below is the full list of teams included:

  • Flamengo
  • Corinthians
  • São Paulo
  • Santos
  • Portuguesa
  • Internacional
  • Palmeiras
  • Fluminense
  • Ponte Preta
  • Coritiba
  • Grêmio
  • Vasco
  • Atlético Mieiro
  • Bahia
  • Atlético Goianiense
  • Sport
  • Figueirense
  • Náutico
  • Botafogo
  • Cruzeiro

I'll admit, I'm not a big soccer fan, but only because I don't understand all of the strategies and whatnot. Regardless, you don't need to be a soccer junkie to understand how important this was to soccer fans. If Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 wants to main the skill and grace of top level soccer, then they need some of the top level soccer teams.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 will be available in Fall 2013.
