FIFA 11 servers among games EA is shutting down

With new releases of their most popular sports titles every year, it only makes sense that EA would shutdown the servers for its older sports titles — and that's exactly what they're doing. Among those having their online portion shut down this January are FIFA 11NBA JamMadden NFL 11 and FIFA Manager 11

EA released a statement explaining their decisions:

The decisions to retire older EA games are never easy […] But as games get replaced with newer titles, the number of players still enjoying the older games dwindles to a level — fewer than one percent of all peak online players across all EA titles — where it's no longer feasible to continue the behind-the-scenes work involved with keeping these games up and running.

  • NHL 11 Ultimate Team – PS3, 360
