Pre-ordering Madden 25 Amazon-exclusive Anniversary Edition gets you a DirecTV bill

To celebrate the Madden NFL franchise's 25th anniversary, EA Sports changed its naming trend, opting to go with Madden NFL 25. Furthermore, there is a special edition of the game that's exclusive to Amazon, and it comes with some very good perks.

Available for $99.99 at Amazon on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition includes a copy of the game and 17 special Ultimate Team packs of cards — one for every week of the 2013-14 NFL season. But that's not the real draw of the exclusive package.

If you get the Anniversary Edition, you get a special offer for DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket. Of course, it requires a DirecTV subscription, so I'm sure the satellite service provider is hoping that it drums up some additional business.

If you're not a DirecTV subscriber, there's a promo code for $10 off each month of service for the first year when you sign up, which I'm sure jumps up an extra $40 after that first year. But you'd be getting the free full-season subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket Max, which normally would cost $299.95 for the five-month NFL season. If you can't get DirecTV service, you'll get a free trial of NFL Sunday Ticket for the 2013 season, which includes the Red Zone Channel. Red Zone Channel shows all plays in the Red Zone (the area within 20 yards of the end zone) and is accessible from computers tablets and mobile devices.

To be honest, this isn't much of a deal, as DirecTV offers NFL Sunday Ticket at no extra cost to all new subscribers. There's no benefit to this Anniversary Edition — other than the Ultimate Team packs — for current subscribers of DirecTV.
