ROCCAT Kone Pure goes optical, b*tch!

As far as PC gaming peripherals are concerned, ROCCAT keeps on bringing more and more options for gamers. ROCCAT — based in Hamburg — announced today that the Kone Pure gaming mouse now has an an optical version available.

It's all preference whether you prefer a laser mouse — which the Kone Pure normally has — or an optical sensor, but now gamers that want the feel of an optical mouse have that choice. The design and shape of the Kone Pure are still intact, but the Kone Pure Optical is 91% of the size of the Kone. It also comes equipped with standard ROCCAT features such as Easy-Shift[+]™, Easy-Aim, and ROCCAT Talk™, in addition to Omron switches.

As for the optical sensor itself, it is an accurate, cutting-edge Pro-Optic (R3) optical sensor adjustable up to 4,000 DPI. There's a soft-touch surface to the mouse, seven buttons, a 16.8 million-color lighting system and 576KB of on-board memory.

I'm used to spending a lot of money on gaming mice, but the Kone Pure Optical comes in at $69.99. Stay tuned for our review in the coming weeks.
