PS Vita TV sold out in Japan

Yesterday, Sony announced PlayStation Vita TV —  a console-like device that allows you to play PlayStation Vita games on your television with use of a DualShock 3 controller. In addition to that, you can use streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, and you'll be able to play your PlayStation 4 via Remote Play with a DualShock 4 via a later system update.

It looks like a wonderful device, and it was pretty much immediately available for preorder in Japan. And now it's sold out.

Both versions of the PlayStation Vita TV — stand-alone and value pack — are sold out on Amazon Japan. So it seems there's popular demand for it. I know I want one, but it hasn't been announced for the West yet. We don't know how many PS Vita TVs were available from the get-go, but it's a good sign that Sony has it sold out. Looks promising…
