Rumor: Call of Duty: Ghosts campaign clocks in at four hours

Eventually, there will be a time when Call of Duty ships without a single player campaign. That's not this year, but it might as well be as the Ghosts' campaign is said to last around four and a half hours, just slightly longer than that of Battlefield 4's campaign.

If true, Ghosts campaign would be significantly longer than past Call of Duty games, but is that necessarily a bad thing? If it only takes four hours to get the story across, so be it. I'd rather have a well-told, shorter story that leaves a lasting impact than something lengthier, but not as tight-knit. I prefer quality moments over quantity of moments. With Academy Award-winner Stephen Gaghan (Traffic) penning the script for Ghosts, I'll bet there's plenty of emotional, memorable moments packed into these four hours.

And let's be honest, Call of Duty and Battlefield are more known for their multiplayer aspects anyway. With the addition of Extinction mode and Squads, along with the return of a robust competitive multiplayer, I'm sure Call of Duty: Ghosts will continue to offer plenty of replay value, despite a shorter campaign.

How do you feel about a four hour campaign length?
