I didn't know there was going to be another remake of Annie. A hiatus from covering movies will cause a couple of projects to slip through the cracks. But today I found out very quickly that there is indeed a remake of Annie, and it's starring Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, Cameron Diaz and Quvenzhané Wallis.
The photo you see is the first look at the cast in what appears to be the middle of a musical number. To the left you can see Diaz, who is playing Miss Hannigan, the wretched head of an all-girls orphanage. Rose Byrne is playing Grace, who works for Jamie Foxx's character Benjamin Stacks — this adaptation's Daddy Warbucks. The name caught me off-guard too. Annie will be played by Quvenzhané Wallis.
Last month, Cameron Diaz tweet out a picture of her as Miss Hannigan, but this is the first look at the cast altogether.

Annie is set to release in time for next year's holiday season on December 19, 2014.
