PS Vita Slim out today in North America alongside Borderlands 2

Today marks the arrival of Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita. And arriving alongside the shooter-looter is the new slimmer, lighter PlayStation Vita model.

Available today at retailers across North America, the PS Vita Slim is part of a new Borderlands 2 Limited Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle, featuring Borderlands 2 with six DLC packs and an 8GB memory card, all for $199.99.

As revealed earlier this year, the new PS Vita model is approximately 20 percent slimmer and approximately 15 percent lighter than the original. It also features 1GB of internal memory, extended battery life, and a new high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD). It's even designed with rounded edges for more comfort. Though some have complained of the new screen, which replaces the original Vita's 5-inch OLED screen, Sony claims the new LCD screen produces an image quality that is "as high as that of the OLED panel."

For those who own a PS4, the Vita also allows for "Remote Play," which basically lets you stream most PS4 games to the Vita system over a local Wi-Fi network. And with last week's system update, pairing your Vita with your PS4 is even easier.

In addition to Borderlands 2, check out all of the other games due out this month for the Vita.
