Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2014.
The next-gen version will feature a range of "major" visual and technical upgrades which Rockstar says makes Los Santos and Blaine County "more immersive than ever." In addition to increased draw distance and higher resolution, there's also a number of other additions and improvements on the Xbox One and PS4, including:
- New weapons, vehicles and activities
- Additional wildlife
- Denser traffic
- New foliage system
- Enhanced damage and weather effects
- Enhanced radio selections with over 100 additional new songs and new DJ mixes across the game's 17 radio stations
- and much more
What's more, all players who pre-order the game will get $1 million in-game bonus cash to spend across GTA 5 and GTA Online (GTA$500K each for your Story Mode and for your GTA Online in-game bank accounts). Speaking of GTA Online, there will be an increased player count, with online play now supporting up to 30 players on PS4 and Xbox One. Also, all existing gameplay upgrades and Rockstar-created content released since the launch of GTA Online will be available immediately.
Rockstar will support character transfer from last-gen to your choice of PS4 or Xbox One, and promises exclusive content for returning players. This includes rare versions of classic vehicles such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane, and the Blimp; activities including wildlife photography and new shooting range challenges, new weapons, and more.
You know what's missing though? Heists. Rockstar make no mention of heists, which I honestly thought they were saving for the next-gen re-release.
