Nintendo has pushed live 3DS system update version 5.0.0-11U. Complicated numbers aside, the update offers a few tweaks that will make your experience more enjoyable. This includes implementing a save transfer feature and streamlining the "Download Later" feature.
So let's get into a little more detail. First and foremost, you will now be able to transfer save data from the packaged version of a game to the downloadable version. Finally! However, the catch is that save data that is transferred to a digital game can not be moved back to the physical version.
The second notable feature in today's update aims to improve the feature that allows you to download items in the background when your 3DS is in Sleep Mode. Items will now download when the eShop is running, meaning you will no longer have to exit out of the program for "Download Later" to work. All you have to do now is close the 3DS cover and the downloading will begin.
The firmware also makes unnamed "further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments." For more information, check out Nintendo's official update page.
