Amazon opens ‘Retro Gaming Store’

Online retail giant Amazon.com has opened its new "Retro Gaming Store" where you can find all of your favorite classic games for systems like NES, Sega Genesis, PlayStation, etc.

In theory, you could've purchased these through Amazon all this time through, either through third-party outlets, trade-ins, or through old stock, in the overall Video Games hub.  The only difference now is that Amazon has organized all of these into one simple section for your convenience.

From consoles to games to accessories, you can literally find all of your retro gaming needs in this section now.  Typical pricing for each product depends on whether it's new or used.  New items are valued much higher, usually ranging from $90 to $200.  Of course, if you don't care about collectibles and only care to relive and enjoy the more simplistic days of gaming, you can purchase the items used for about $5 to $15.  This of course depends on the title and console.

The games, consoles, and accessories that you can find include:

  • 3DO
  • Atari 2600
  • Atari 5200
  • Atari 7800
  • Atari Jaguar
  • Atari Lynx
  • CalecoVision
  • Commodore 64

Forget purchasing HD remakes for the current gen console or ports of the old games for your phone, it's time to relive these classics how they should be played – on the original console.  Head on over to the Retro Gaming Store to see all they have to offer.  Not every item is in stock, but there is a healthy amount to choose from.
