Ubisoft has officially fixed the Assassin's Creed Unity patch for the Xbox One, that means that you won't have a 40GB 'patch' that will re-download the game and instead you will have a patch around 6.3GB, 142MB or 5.7GB.
The variance in download size comes from whether or not you made the attempt to download the patch previously. If you made this attempt in the past you probably ended up re-downloading the entire game on your Xbox One – now if you update the game (with the same update 'Patch 4') you will be met with a 142MB download.
If you have never made the attempt to patch the game and are still on Patch 3 your download will look something like 5.7GB and if you've never even patched the game at all (why on earth would you choose to keep the glitches?) then your download size will be 6.3GB. The fix for the patch is scheduled to roll out today and should hit Xbox One consoles through the day.
Patch 4 targets frame rate drops, game crashes, lost progression, connectivity and a bunch of other features that totally makes it worth the download. Don't forget to update!
The patch was originally meant to launch on the Xbox One on December 12th, it took about 10 days for them to fix it — is that too long?
