Batman: Arkham Knight is broken on PC

Refund it or wait for an update, until then... play something else.

**Update: Warner Bros. and Rocksteady have issued an official statement on the state of the PC version.**

Adopters of the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight have found themselves struggling with the game since its release today. Issues have been reported through a number of forums; Steam, Reddit, and the game's own forums on WB Games.

The issues mainly fall between performance and game file issues — as most PC issues do if your hardware falls in line with the recommended settings. Interestingly enough, Warner Bros updated the minimum system requirements the night of release for Grapics Cards from the AMD Radeon HD 7870 – with a minimum of 2 GB Memory to the AMD Radeon HD 7950 – with a 3 GB Memory minimum.

So far, AMD users have had the hardest time with the game, with the game being reported to drop under 5FPS at times.

Performance issues are not limited to AMD owners, performance issues have been reported while driving the Batmobile. The frame-rate seems to drop during a number of events in the game – even effecting high-end Graphics Cards like the Titan X.

When it comes to file issues for Arkham Knight, pre-loaded game files appear to be struggling the most with game crashes and freezes after game files are decrypted. Verifying the game's integrity on Steam tends to cause to the game to self-corrupt and delete itself.

Reported work around for the locked 30fps: Navigating to the install directory, locate a file named “BMSystemSettings.ini” and searching for “maxfps” within that file. Change the value from 30 to 60 or 0.

If you are on Steam and now fall outside of the games minimum requirements or simply no longer wish to own the game, you can make use of Steam's new refund policy. Warner Bros.  is likely to be working on a fix, we have reached out for information.

It's unfortunate that users have been experiencing this issue on the PC port as it is a great game from Rocksteady, however it should be noted that â€‹Iron Galaxy Studios worked on the PC port.
