Go get your taste of Mayhem and Rift.

If you own Destiny and have been on the fence on whether or not you should be purchasing the upcoming expansion, The Taken King, Bungie has something that will hopefully change your mind. Before the release of The Taken King, Bungie is making all of the new Crucible maps free.

On September 8th, Destiny players will be hit with huge mandatory update (so big that you might need upgrade your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3), this update will bring every new PVP map and two new modes from The Taken King.

The free Crucible week will last until September 14th, a day before the the release of The Taken King. After that date, you will need to upgrade to The Taken King to keep playing the new maps. "Once Oryx arrives in our Solar System, the new Crucible content will become the sole property of those Guardians who pick up and continue playing The Taken King," wrote Bungie on their blog. "This is your chance to try before you buy – or download. "
