A GameZone writer's morning goes like this:
Wake up, have a shower, make some coffee, and grab something for breakfast. Well, this morning while looking for some news, we also found ourselves some breakfast. This breakfast came in the form of Super Mario Cereal.
Yes, seriously. It started as a rumor reported by Cerealously, but it has since been confirmed that the mustached plumber will be featured in a breakfast cereal with Amiibo functionality.
Unfortunately, this doesn't mean you'll be scanning your bowl of cereal and milk onto your Nintendo Switch (actually, that could get messy), but the box does indeed have an RFID printed on it. On the plus side, you can get a matching Mario Mustache, just made of milk instead of Italian whiskers, while eating marshmallow '?' blocks, 1-Ups and Super Mushrooms.
The rumor was proven real when Kelloggs informed the website of cereal fans at Cerealously that the breakfast adventure was indeed real.
“We cerealously appreciate your continued interest in seeing a Nintendo cereal, Chris! We hope you’ll keep an eye out for the new Super Mario Cereal that is hitting store shelves now. This star-shaped cereal features Super Mario-inspired marshmallows, and a limited number of packages will have an Amiibo powerup sticker that can be used on the Super Mario Odyssey game with the Nintendo Switch gaming console. We also appreciate your additional feedback regarding classic cereal favorites, and thanks for taking the time to write!” —@KelloggsUS
Wow, an official response with a custom pun? Way to go cereal company!
While confirmed, we still don't know when the Amiibo cereal will be hitting store shelves, but we know GameZone will be starting every news day with a bowl.
