Microsofts biggest Xbox sale ever starts next week

Over 200 Xbox games discounted, starting December 22nd

Microsoft frontman Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb has taken the time to remind us that starting next week, Xbox fans can take advantage of the Xbox Store's "biggest sale ever."

The Countdown sale begins on December 22nd and will run for 17 days into the new year, offering deals on hundreds of Xbox games, movies and TV shows, and apps.

The sale will run through January 7th, and will see discounts on some of Xbox One's biggest games, including Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Other non-Xbox exclusive blockbuster games will also be discounted, including Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, and Assassin's Creed SYndicate. There will also be discounts on some Backward Compatibility games.

Starting next week on Dec. 22, Xbox fans can take advantage of Xbox Store’s biggest sale ever, Countdown. The sale will offer 17 days of great deals on hundreds of games, movies & TV shows and apps, including daily and weekly offers counting down to the New Year and continuing through Jan. 7.

While we don't know exact prices, we do know that both Xbox One and Xbox 360 games are included, with discounts ranging between 40 to 60 percent off (some even more). Xbox LIVE Gold members will also receive an additional 10 percent off on top of the discount.

With Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Green Monday past us, this could be the last major savings of the year. If you're looking to get an Xbox One, multiple console bundles are available for $50 off, starting at $299 through December 26th.

Let's just hope Phantom Squad doesn't spoil the fun come Christmas day.
