NBA Live 2003 Soundtrack goes Platinum

EA’s NBA LIVE 2003 SOUNDTRACK
REACHES RIAA PLATINUM

First Ever Videogame Soundtrack
to go Platinum!

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 14, 2003
– Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) has announced that the first soundtrack it
released as part of its EA SPORTS™ TRAX initiative announced in August last year
reached Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified platinum
status (one million units), making it the first videogame soundtrack ever to go
platinum as well as the most successful soundtrack in videogame history.
               
The soundtrack is a part of the EA SPORTS TRAX music initiative that EA
announced last year, which is dedicated to bringing in the freshest music to
EA’s video games.  “EA is committed to delivering the best music in the industry
within our games,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music for
Electronic Arts. “The success of the NBA Live 2003 soundtrack shows that we are
connecting with our fans.”

The soundtrack is a part of the EA
Sports™ Trax music initiative that EA announced last year, dedicated to bringing
