Rumor: Xbox Summer Sale to begin next week; Dark Souls 3, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and more to be on sale

Oh boy. My body is ready, my wallet is not.

It looks like Microsoft is planning on announcing their Summer Sale soon and someone else beat them to the punch. Ekim, the same netizen that correctly revealed the Games With Gold line-up ahead of Microsoft's announcements, has now revealed the dates of Microsoft's Summer Sale and some of the games that will be featured in it.

Starting Tuesday next week between the dates of July 5 and July 11, Microsoft will be hosting a Summer Sale that will bring discounts to a number of Xbox titles, including some new AAA games. A majority of the Xbox games that will be on sale that are multiplatform will have prices comparable to their price found on Steam's Summer Sale.

Unfortunately, Overwatch will not be included in the sale, neither will the Batman: Arkham games or Rainbow Six: Siege. However, other new big releases will be, like DOOM, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and Dark Souls 3

According to Ekim, GTA 5 will be on sale, for the same price as it is on Steam with the Summer Sale discount, which is $35.99 thanks to a 40% discount.

Games that were specifically mentioned or detailed to be featured during the sale:

  • Dragon Ball Xenoverse
  • DmC 4 (Xbox One)
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (around $30)
  • Mirror's Edge Catalyst $35.99 (with Gold)
  • Metro: Redux Bundle $7.50
  • The Division
  • Dark Souls 3
  • DOOM (over $35.99)
  • GTA V ($35.99)

While Ekim doesn't specifically mention that Fallout 4 will be on sale, it more than likely will be considering that DOOM will be featured in the sale (at a price comparable to its Steam Summer Sale price).
