The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone launch trailer is full of crazy

Yup, that dude is headless.

We're still a week away from the release of The Witcher 3's first expansion, Hearts of Stone, but there's nothing wrong with a little premature launch trailer.

Today's trailer gives us a deeper look at the new expansion, which promises at least 10 hours of game time, new characters and monsters, and a unique romance starring Shanni. As for the story, well, you'll once again be playing as Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, this time hired to defeat the ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec, who possesses the power of immortality.

Hearts of Stone is set for release on October 13, 2015. It is the first of two "massive" expansions planned for the critically acclaimed role-playing game. Fans looking to return to the world of The Witcher can do so through the Expansion Pass, which includes both expansions for $24.99, or purchase Hearts of Stone separately for $9.99. However, the second expansion, Blood and Wine, will cost $19.99.
