PlayStation fans hoping to see the release of the new Uncharted game on PS4 this year are likely to be disappointed. As are those waiting for a Game of the Year version of The Last of Us.
To both of those ideas, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli responded, "Ha. Doubtful."
Of course, Monacelli could have also been responding to the idea that Left Behind, the upcoming singleplayer DLC for The Last of Us, will have some sort of Uncharted 4 easter eggs hidden within it. If you recall, Naughty Dog previously left a major easter egg in Uncharted 3 strongly hinting towards the studio's follow-up, The Last of Us. The Easter egg, which Naughty Dog admitted should've been taken out, was a newspaper with the headline that read "Scientists are still struggling to understand deadly fungus."
Personally, I don't think any of the three will happen, so maybe Monacelli was just flat out rejecting all of the questions. The new Uncharted game, coming to PlayStation 4, was first teased in November during the console's launch event. A brief teaser trailer was shown but not much is actually known about the game. The odds of Uncharted actually releasing for PlayStation 4 in late 2014 are slim given that Monacelli also recently revealed that development has just started. On the bright side, we can at least expect a full reveal some time this year.
