Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s official trailer released. Haven’t we seen this before?

Ubisoft has officially released the reveal trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Not that it mattered as the video leaked over the weekend, giving fans an early look at the next installment in the company's best-selling franchise. As expected, Assassin's Creed 4 introduces an all-new hero and setting, and is said to feature the "most diverse and seamless Assassin's Creed world ever created."

“With the new hero and new setting we are creating the boldest and most unique Assassin’s Creed game yet, while still respecting the pillars of the franchise that have made it such a fan favorite,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is based on a true, harsh and exciting part of a legendary era and will thrill longtime fans and newcomers alike.”

Black Flag tells the story of Edward Kenway, a young British man who falls from privateering for the Royal Navy into piracy as the war between the major Empires comes to an end. With a thirst for danger and adventure, Edward finds himself embroiled in the war between Assassins and Templars. Throughout the game you'll journey throughout the West Indies during the period of time later known as the Golden Age of Pirates — and yes, you'll see some of the most infamous pirates in history, including Blackbeard and Charles Vane.

Assassin's Creed 4: Flag will be available on October 29, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4, Wii U, PC, and "other next generation consoles" — in other words, the next Xbox.
