Highly-touted action RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning sold around 330,000 copies in the United States last month, a new report shows. The sales combine PS3, Xbox 360, and PC retail copies, and not digital purchases.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was released February 7th from 38 Studios, the first from the Rhode Island-based developer.
Reckoning was the fourth best-selling game in the United States in February at retail, trailing only Modern Warfare 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and UFC Undisputed 3.
Following a poor January, video game sales in February continued their downward spiral. Consumer market research organization, the NPD Group, has revealed another drop for the medium. Sales have plummeted 20% to $1.06 billion, down from $1.33 billion last month (a 34% decrease for sales of games and consoles in January overall).
Software sales in particular dropped by 24% year-over-year to $485.7 million.
Sales figures for Reckoning in Europe are still unknown, but GfK Chart-Track has revealed that the action RPG was the 10th top-selling title at stores in the UK in February.
