Sony ‘not allowing’ Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Challenges on PS3

If you're a gamer playing Mass Effect 3 on a PS3, you're probably upset and wondering why everyone else is enjoying the bonus N7 Challenge Weekends while you are forced to sit on the outside and watch.

Since Mass Effect 3's release, BioWare has consistently held these multiplayer challenges which tasks players with completing objectives in the online portion of the game, like killing a certain amount of enemies, playing certain maps, etc.  In return, players receive awards or bonuses for taking part in the weekend event.

Unfortunately, up to this point, they have only been available for Xbox 360 and PC.  As it turns out, Sony is blocking BioWare from running the promotions on PlayStation 3.

"Sony has not yet approved the promotion," BioWare informed fans in their Operation Resurgence Weekend post today.

"We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC."

BioWare didn't go into any details about what's causing the hold up, but I'd venture to guess the three separate PlayStation entities (U.S., Japan, and Europe) can't all agree.
