Christopher Nolan's relationship with Batman is done. The two are separating on good terms. That goes for anything to do with the Justice League film, as well. Writer-director Christopher Nolan has said numerous times that The Dark Knight Rises will complete his take on Batman. While promoting the trilogy's finale, he said in an interview that he has no plans to work on Justice League.
"No, none at all. We're finished with all we're doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character." This speculation that he would produce the Justice League film proabably arose because his adaptation of Batman is the latest, and best, and Batman just so happens to be a key member of the Justice League. Nolan is also a producer on Man of Steel, the new Superman movie reboot due out next summer. Other members of the Justice League include Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman.
I don't understand why people would try to link him to the Justice League film. Nolan's Batman is rooted in a more realistic universe than those of Green Lantern or any of the Superman films. There's a practical explanation for any type of hero or villain and their powers. A man named Kal-el from the planet Krypton who can fly, is made of steel, can shoot lasers out of his eyes and can blow ice-cold breath just doesn't fit with the Nolan version of Batman. The two can't co-exist.
A whole other Batman would have to be created for the Justice League movie. One that lives in a more fantastical world; one where both Gotham City and Metropolis exist. Maybe start a new Batman movie called 'The Caped Crusader' and have it have tie-ins to other DC Comics heroes that will appear in the Justice League. Like, maybe it'll have a radio playing events happening in Metropolis with Superman. Nolan has said about Warner Bros. launching a new version of Batman:
Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they're going to do with him. We've had our say on the character.
More definitively, Nolan has said, "I've got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any Justice League project.
There you have it. Now stop with the rumors. Nolan and Justice League won't, and shouldn't happen. Why ruin a good thing, right?
