The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's second DLC expansion could be titled "Hearthfire", according to a new trademark filed by Bethesda.
Filed by Bethesda's parent company Zenimax, the trademark description for Heartfire reads, "Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices".
For those familiar with The Elder Scrolls, you should immediately recognize that Hearthfire is the name of the 9th month in the Elder Scrolls calendar.
Current speculation surrounding the Hearthfire rumors seem to be centered on Necromancy. The third of that month in The Elder Scrolls lore is "Tales and Tallows", an unofficial holiday that celebrates dark magic and necromancy like reanimating the dead.
Could this be a zombie expansion? After all, zombies are all the rage right now.
It should also be noted that while this could be the second add-on for Skyrim, PS3 users are still awaiting the arrival the first expansion, Dawnguard, which is currently available on Xbox 360 and PC. If Hearthfire is indeed a second expansion you can expect it to release first on Xbox 360 before other platforms.
