According to a NeoGAF "insider," next week's E3 will be even greater for Ubisoft, who plans to showcase several of their fall blockbusters, as the developer is reportedly prepping to unveil the next Splinter Cell game.
Blitz, as he/she is known on the popular forum website, stated that the upcoming game will be called Splinter Cell: Blacklist and will be a direct follow-up to the ever-so-popular title, Splinter Cell: Conviction. Sam Fisher will once again be the game's protagonist, but this time Fisher will be taking down an organization known as Blacklist (hence the game's title). The user also confirmed that a limited edition version of the game is ready for pre-orders once the game is announced at next week's entertainment expo in Los Angeles, California.
If true, Blacklist targets a January 2013 release date, which would make an E3 announcement very possible, especially after Ubisoft predicting their press conference to be "enormous" and "off the charts." It also helps that Jade Raymond, head of Ubisoft Toronto, told reporters previously that their team was "100% focused on Splinter Cell."
Ubisoft's E3 press conference is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EST/ 4 p.m. PST on Monday and will feature an impressive list of upcoming titles: Assassin's Creed III, the next Rayman, Rainbow 6: Patriots, and the alleged Splinter Cell: Blacklist. GameZone will be at the press conference and will report on every major announcement from the event.
