We've known for a while now that Halo 2: Anniversary — which is included in the soon-to-be-released The Master Chief Collection — will remaster Coagulation, Halo 2's multiplayer map inspired by the original Halo's Blood Gulch. The remastered map, known officially as Bloodline in The Master Chief Collection, is described as being "bigger, better, and deadlier than ever before."
The map features "a number of changes to keep things fresh," Microsoft wrote today, describing Bloodline as a "'Best Of' collection for all iterations of Blood Gulch. Longtime players will note new additions, like the UNSC Hornets from Halo 3 behind each base and a small bridge to the side that offers new areas of cover for players attacking it."
One of the changes detailed is the addition of an EMP at each base that works as a defense against the numerous vehicles available on the map. In addition to the two iconic bases located on each side of the map, there's now a midfield base which houses a Banshee and Warthog.
"New and old Halo players alike will find much to love about the new Bloodline. It takes the best elements of Blood Gulch and Coagulation and throws in some new additions that keep the map feeling fresh, while still sparkling with plenty of Halo nostalgia," Microsoft promises.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is set to release exclusively for Xbox One on November 11. Check out the launch-day playlists 343 Industries has planned here.
