Following today's release of major Destiny update 1.0.3, Bungie has announced that the new and improved Iron Banner "Reforged" event will return tomorrow, November 18. And power will really matter this time; at least that's what Bungie tells us.
Over the past week, Bungie has shared a number of changes and (hopefully) improvements for the Iron Banner 2.0. Some of the most noteworthy changes include:
-
Level Advantages Enabled
- Your DEFENSE rating affects how you take damage. Your ATTACK rating affects how you inflict damage.
- Lower-level players wielding fully-upgraded weapons should still be considered a very credible threat!
-
Special Crucible Playlist with level 20 Fireteam leaders
- Only players Level 20 and above can lead a Fireteam of six Guardians in the Iron Banner. Guardians lower than Level 20 can accompany their more powerful friends at their peril. Prove your might and earn the respect of the Lords of Iron.
-
Prevent leavers with Medallions of Iron
- Rank and Standing are awarded to the victor. In defeat, earn a token redeemable for a portion of your lost gains. Collect up to five, to be cashed in upon your next victory.
-
Five new Iron Banner Reputation Ranks
- Tempering
-
Exclusive level 30 Gear
- Increase your Event Standing to unlock better weapons and gear from Lord Saladin. Upgraded gauntlets and boots will move you closer to Level 30.
-
Reforging
- Surrender all progression to apply new perks that will make your favorite implement of war the perfect weapon.
The new Iron Banner event begins tomorrow, November 18, and runs through Monday, November 24. See you in the Crucible, Guardians.
