It's been several hours since notorious hacker group Lizard Squad launched a DDoS attack on Xbox LIVE (for the second time this week) and it looks like Microsoft's servers still haven't completely recovered.
In addition to the message on Microsoft's Xbox LIVE status page, acknowledging "issues signing in to Xbox LIVE," social media sites like Twitter are flooded with Xbox owners complaining about being unable to login. Microsoft hasn't admitted to a DDoS attack, but last night Lizard Squad claimed credit for it.

What's more, the hacker group promises an "entertaining weekend," which means more DDoS attacks are likely planned. So far the group has been quiet, but with PlayStation Experience kicking off today, I wouldn't be surprised to see them shift their focus to PlayStation Network and Twitch, where much of the event will be streamed. SOE games may also be affected, as the group seemingly has a grudge against SOE president John Smedley.
This will be an entertaining weekend.
