Transistor selling at a faster pace than Bastion

More than 600K copies sold to-date

Transistor still has a ways to go before catching up to the 3 million-plus copies that its predecessor, Bastion, has sold, but it's certainly off to a promising start, according its developer Supergiant Games.

In a blog post celebrating the game's success, Supergiant revealed that Transistor has sold "well over" 600,000 copies between Steam and the PlayStation Store. Again, it's well below what Bastion has sold in its lifetime, but Supergiant pointed out that Transistor is actually selling "even faster relative to Bastion during the first couple of months after its launch."

"Word-of-mouth is what kept Bastion going for way, way longer than we could have imagined, and it's what's kept Transistor going strong, too," Supergiant said, pointing out that Transistor has earned more than 70 industry accolades.

We didn't really give out end-of-year awards here on GameZone, but we did give Transistor a 9/10. In our review, which you can read here, editor Lance Liebl called it "one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences" he's ever had.

Do you agree?
