In what is becoming a somewhat scary trend for Sony, PlayStation Network is down again.
Users have taken to forums and social media to express frustration at being disconnected from the online service, receiving error code "NP-35000-8" when attempting to access the PS Store, and getting messages that PSN is undergoing maintenance, even though that's not planned to take place until Thursday. Whatever the issue, it appears to be widespread as complaints are flooding in from all over the world.
The official PSN Status page lists the network's status as "Offline" with a message that reads:
We are aware that some users are experiencing difficulty logging into the PSN. We will update this article with any changes that occur in regards to this issue. Thank you for your patience.
Ask PlayStation, Sony's online support on Twitter, has also confirmed the issues users are having connecting to PSN, but only said that engineers are "investigating."

It's unclear what the problem is or how long it'll be until service is fully restored.
