After a one-year hiatus, MineCon is returning. We've known for a while now that the convention, which celebrates Minecraft and all things Mojang, will be held in London. Today, we've got the specifics.
This summer — July 4th through 5th — 10,000 Minecrafters will be heading to the ExCel London Exhibition and Conference Centre to join in on panels, tournaments, contests, events, and mysterious soon-to-be-announced show on the Saturday night of the event.
Here are the details:
Date: Saturday July 4th to Sunday July 5th, 2015.
Location: London, England. ExCeL London Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Tickets: When available — minecon.mojang.com
The tickets will be available for purchase this month, the exact date the tickets will be available have yet to be revealed. In order to accommodate different people's schedules, the tickets will be split into two batches and available at different times in the same day (5,000 tickets in each batch). If you are able to purchase a ticket you will have access to discounted hotels, so becareful when managing your booking.
If you want to volunteer at the event, watch Mojang.com — submissions will begin next week. If you want to exhibit a booth send an email to [email protected]. Panel idea submissions begin in march, prepare an outline that details who would be best for the panel and submit a video of yourself describing the panel and why it should be included at MineCon.
MineCon is the event to attend if you love Minecraft. It puts you in the position to meet the developers (Mojangstas), YouTube creators, other Minecrafters and a bunch of other Minecraft talents.
Minecraft has had a pretty big last 30 days, it was featured on Conan O'Briens show, it's huge update was somewhat revealed (it will change the Ender Dragon), and the name changing feature was revealed (it's coming in two days!).
