Is 2015’s Call of Duty going to be World at War 2?

Prior evidence suggests a new World at War for the 2015 Call of Duty

Yesterday, it was revealed by Treyarch Studios that they are developing the new Call of Duty for 2015. Unfortunately, that's all they pretty much said, leaving us with a major question.

Following Activision's cycle of Call of Duty developers, Treyarch has mainly worked on the World at War and Black Ops Call of Duty games, though they have dabbled in Wii/Wii U ports for other versions.

So the big question now is, what kind of Call of Duty will it be? Two weeks ago, Canadian Xbox Community Manager Raj Patel tweeted an image that might've given us a hint.

Raj tweeted out an image (shown above) of two parallel lines — the roman number for two or a pause button with Morse code written faintly in the background. The only context from his tweet was: "Hmm…" Soon after, the Morse code was translated buy a NeoGAF member to reveal: “Presented by Xbox, 10am PDT, 1pm EST, May 4th 2015"

Patel later went on to say that the image was not official, as it wasn't from Xbox; but, what if it was from Treyarch? I'm not buying his simple dismissal of it. If Treyarch was working on another Black Ops game, it would be Black Ops 3; but, if they were working on World at War it would be World at War II — the same two lines.

Was the tweet by Patel a hint at the next Call of Duty game? May is traditionally when Activision announces the new Call of Duty installment for the year. And the fact that it was being presented by Xbox is further evidence since Activision and Microsoft typically agree to a timed-exclusivity deal with Call of Duty content.
