Apple censoring guns and other violent images on App Store

But the censoring isn't applied to everyone

It is being reported that the Apple Store has begun rejecting games if their images or screenshots depict violence in the form of people holding guns, maiming or killing.

According to PocketGamer, developers behind "a pair of high profile shooters" have been forced to change their screenshots. Team Chaos, the developer behind Rooster Teeth vs Zombiens also had to switch their game's image from a hero holding an NES Zapper gun to one holding a baseball bat. Because apparently a fake video game gun is more violent than an actual baseball bat.

What's odd is that the rule doesn't seem to apply to all games, as Gang Nations, which features cartoony characters holding AK-47s in its screenshots, is doing just fine.

This isn't the first time that Apple has forced developers to change their product though. In fact, the day that Papers, Please hit the iPad, Apple had a 'misunderstanding' over the nudity in the game.

Needless to say, Hatred wouldn't make it on the iOS App store.
