During a conference call today Ubisoft made several expected, some not-so-expected announcements. Assassin's Creed Unity, Rogue and Far Cry 4 proved to be heavy hitters in sales for Ubisoft's third quarter, and there's a release window for new Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six Siege, and The Division.
The conference call was mainly about sales on Ubisoft games and what the company learned from their failures this year, but they did offer some speculation on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Ubisoft estimated that around 28 million people currently own either a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One (probably based off of game sales per console) by the end of 2014. The company expects that number to 'more or less' double by the end of 2015. If Ubisoft is making those estimates we can make our own educated guess and say that there will be plenty of games developed solely for PS4 and Xbox One towards the end of the year. We've already started to see that with some already-announced games, like Tom Clancy's The Division.
