The first portion of Microsoft's Games with Gold for March are now available for download.
Starting today, Xbox LIVE Gold members can download two of the three games arriving on Xbox platforms for free this month – Rayman Legends for Xbox One, and Tomb Raider for Xbox 360. Rayman Legends will be available for free for the entirety of the month, while Tomb Raider will be available only through March 15th, at which point BioShock Infinite will replace it as the free game for Xbox 360 for the remaining part of the month. As a reminder, once you download a game through Games with Gold, it is yours to keep for good — even if you cancel your Xbox LIVE Gold membership.
As I wrote previously, this is easily one of the best months we've seen yet for Games with Gold, but things are looking even more promising for April. Celebrating a major milestone — over 100,000,000 Games with Gold titles downloaded collectively — Microsoft announced that April will see double the amount of free games: four free games for Xbox 360, and two free games for Xbox One.
Meanwhile, PlayStation fans still don't know what PlayStation Plus games will be offered in March. Normally announced the week ahead of the first Tuesday of the month, Sony is still working to finalize the month's lineup of games. With the new lineup set to go live tomorrow — the first Tuesday of every month is the plan — it doesn't leave Sony much time to get things done.
